How do you tell a good band from a great band? From a musicians perspective, the difference is intangible; you can’t quite put your finger on it. It’s not because the keyboard player’s great or the horn section is special, or the engine room’s perfect, or the vocals are fantastic. It’s something more than that. It’s to do with the chemistry.
From the point of view of the audience, it really doesn’t matter. For them, it’s easy. They can just tell. They’ll have the time of their life, they’ll be screaming out for more; they’ll be buzzing; they won’t want to go home and they’ll tell all of their friends what a great night they had days after the gig.
Catherine Nightingale & The Hi-Tones is a great band. We play Soul. We play Tamla Motown classics that most bands would shy away from, because they are just too challenging and we take that “Soul Groove” and transpose it into exciting interpretations of todays great songs. Remaining seated is virtually imposible, whether you are 7 or 70, we are best enjoyed on your feet.
